WFA & WFRRecert June 20, 21 and 22, 2014 (Friday through Sunday)

Aspen Alpine Guides will be hosting a Wilderness First Aid and Wilderness First Responder Recertification course at 10th Mountain’s Sangree M. Froelicher Hut.

Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is a 16-hour course that is a great introduction to wilderness medicine and can be particularly useful for group leaders, guides or enthusiasts who require more than what an urban first aid course can provide. The emphasis of the course is on recognition and treatment of treating life-threatening traumatic and medical emergencies, common wilderness injuries, bandaging and splinting, and environmental injuries.  An American Heart Association CPR component is included in the curriculum.

Wilderness First Responder Recertification (WFRRecert) is a 24-hour course that provides continuing education and recertification of Wilderness First Responder credentials. Course certification is through Desert Mountain Medicine and follows a curriculum standard accepted by the Wilderness Medical Society and recertification is accepted by other agencies. The WFR Recert course is offered concurrently with the WFA course but additional pre-course work is required in order to meet curriculum standards.  The packet of pre-course work is available at {insert Wilderness First Responder pre-course info link here}.

Price $345 Includes course, course materials, hut fees and meals. WFRRecert Study Guide available on the DMM website.
